DEPARTMENT OF PIANO AND KEYBOARD
The famous international pianist Melani Mestre leads the Department of piano and keyboard of the International Academy of Music of Barcelona. Recognized as “one of the virtuous musicians of the world elite” by international critics, Melani Mestre has been the direct heir to the pianist tradition of Enric Granados through maestro José A. Calvo and Alicia Larrocha, both disciples of Frank Marshall .
Melani Mestre has been considered one of the most internationally renowned pianists and orchestra conductors of his generation and is faced with this department along with renowned musicians from other keyboard instruments such as accordion, bandoneon and the harpsichord.
